How you may move around when in Romania.
In Romania there are the typical forms of travel found anywhere else in
the world,train,car,bus,taxi,and tram also in the cities. Taxis are
very affordable,but its wise to go only with a registered taxi
firm,i.e. a taxi that works for a company,and has a meter. buses are
very much the usual standard found anywhere,but cost very little
indeed. But for longer journeys,the options are narrowed down to either
train,or car. The trains are good,and again very affordable,but its
wise to get an intercity or inter-regional train,as the cheapest type
of train is not so comfortable,and very slow moving.
Bringing ones own automobile is quite a common thing to do,and not a
problem,though a four wheel drive,or utility type of vehicle is highly
recommended,as not all roads are in good condition. many roads are
pot-holed,and often become water logged during the rain season.
Cycleing is under taken by many who visit Romania,and is said to be
most satisfying what with the marvelous scenery and such that exists.
But this is a better undertaking during the warmer weather period,from
april-november.
